About the Task Force
The NJ GMIS Cybersecurity Incident Response Task Force is a first-of-its-kind, statewide coalition created to support New Jersey’s local, county, utility, housing, and K–12 government agencies in times of cyber crisis.
This unique team brings together experienced IT professionals from a variety of public-sector organizations across New Jersey. Our members represent the front lines of municipal and public-sector technology—from small towns to large counties—and possess real-world expertise in cybersecurity, infrastructure, disaster recovery, compliance, and more.

Mission Statement
The NJ-GMIS Cybersecurity Task Force is a volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to supporting New Jersey government and school agencies during cybersecurity incidents. Our mission is to rapidly deploy experienced public-sector technology professionals to assist affected agencies in minimizing downtime, restoring operations, and strengthening cybersecurity resilience. Services are provided at no cost and are coordinated under the direction of the requesting agency, aligned with the expertise of our volunteers. We are committed to collaborative, efficient, and secure recovery efforts that protect public services and infrastructure across the state.

Why the Task Force Exists
Cyberattacks on government entities are on the rise, targeting everything from email systems to critical infrastructure. Smaller agencies often lack the internal resources to respond effectively and in real time. That’s where the NJ GMIS Task Force comes in.

Who We Serve
All public-sector agencies in New Jersey are eligible to request support. That includes:
- Municipal governments
- County governments
- Public utility authorities
- Housing authorities
- K–12 school districts
- Public libraries and other agencies
